This section introduces our deer survey service, focusing on the initial planning phase where we engage with your estate’s management team and deer managers. In a collaborative meeting, we discuss your current wildlife management strategies, deer movement patterns, and establish land boundaries and zones using the HAMS mapping software. This phase is crucial for setting the scope of the survey and ensuring our activities are perfectly aligned with your estate's needs and goals.
During the execution phase, we conduct thorough surveys in each predefined zone of your estate, typically during early morning or late evening when deer activity is highest. Our state-of-the-art thermal drones map out the area and document deer sightings, capturing photographs and collecting data on species, sex, and numbers. This systematic approach ensures comprehensive coverage of your land and gathers essential data to inform effective management strategies.
After data collection, we enter the collaboration phase, where all survey findings are compiled into a detailed report. This report includes total deer population, breakdowns by zone, and specifics on species and sex where identifiable. We also complete the WS1 Deer Survey report, essential for applying for government-backed funding to aid in managing deer populations. Repeating surveys over time provides invaluable insights into deer movements and population dynamics, crucial for sustained management and funding.
